Umage Acorn Pendant Lamp

Umage Acorn, a chic pendant resembling the delicate nut, is one of the most sought-after designs of the Danish lighting brand. Just like an acorn has a woody cup, a tough outer shell, and a kernel, the Acorn also consists of three parts: a silicone top, an outer shell made of glass, and an aluminum kernel with a polished metal finish. Conforming to Umage’s design character is the exposed filament bulb which gives the Acorn its soft and warm light.

The Acorn can be used to provide accent lighting or to illuminate small rooms. In clusters, it also works beautifully in lighting bigger interiors.

About the designer

Jacob Rudbeck graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Design and Conservation with a degree in Industrial and Product Design. He explained that the Umage Acorn was not originally meant to resemble a real acorn. Upon experimenting with several elements to come up with the shape he liked, he saw that his lamp’s design matched the form and construction of an acorn. The observer’s use of imagination to figure out this similarity makes the Acorn even more exciting.

The silicone top is available in black and white variants, while the metallic finish inside the light fixture comes in three polished metal finishes: brass, copper, and steel. The optional cable set is available in either black or white.
