Spray-painted cocoon material is a technology that was developed around 1960 by Friedel Wauer, by enclosing a steel frame as the silkworm forms a cocoon, he created lighting that is particularly soothing and charming.

A large opening at the top of the Strand Closed pendant lamp provides bright lighting upwards, while the small opening at the bottom emits soft, direct light downwards. The lampion shape combined with the stringy, semi-transparent structure of the cocoon material creates the delicate and intimate feel.

The Strand Pendant Lamp has a steel inner structure and a PVC-covered steel wire. This pendant lamp is available in 2 sizes, 60cm diameter and 80cm, both are suspended with three wires provided.
