Marset Ginger A LED Wall Lamp

In 2015, Joan Gaspar created the Marset Ginger A LED Wall Lamp, as part of the Ginger collection. The series of lamps were created to honor Peter Edward ‘Ginger’ Baker, a percussionist, and co-founder of the famous 1960s Rock Band, Cream. Gaspar always focused on creating objects that ‘have to be in a place without making noise, without clamoring for attention.’ His creations have a minimal design with a versatility that compensates for the simplicity.

Marset Ginger A LED Wall Lamp has a disc-like lampshade that resembles a cymbal in a drummer’s kit. Hidden behind this simple design is a complex design and process. Layers of wood, resin, and paper are pressed under high pressure to form a thin plate, which is bent to form the lampshade. It encases a LED light diffused by a lacquered black matte aluminum dissipater. The lampshade is attached to an L-shaped movable arm, fixed to the wall using a wall bracket. There are two lamp variants based on the lampshade diameter and two based on the electric cable connection – plug-in and hardwired. The plug-in version has a three-level sensor dimmer. The flexibility of the lamp allows the light to be directed as required, and the light intensity can be controlled using the dimmer. The Marset Ginger A LED Wall Lamp is a perfect lamp for the bedside, over a sofa, or any corner of a room.
