As an automotive engineer, George Carwardine stumbled upon a new formula for a spring prototype never used before. He created the blueprint for a pioneering articulated task lamp that would combine ultimate tractability with faultless stability. Two years later, the Original 1227 was launched.

With a heritage inspired color, a woven cable and authentic brass details the new aesthetic for this iconic Anglepoise design was created. At twice the size of the original pendant, the Anglepoise Original 1227 Maxi Pendant can be used alone or in combination in any room or space, or in combination with other members of the collection to make a unique statement in any interior space.
